In a not so surprising move the 76ers waived Ignas Brazdeikis today. The 22 year old forward came from the New York Knicks as part of the George Hill deal at the deadline. Brazdeikis appeared in one game for the 76ers.
The move, while not of much significance at first glance, does open up a roster spot ahead of the April 9th deadline for buy out candidates. By rule a player must be waived prior to April 9 in order to be playoff eligible for the next team that picks him up. Sixers could be in the market for another power forward/center type player that could help with Ben and no Joel line ups. The next few days should be telling, depending on who else is waived and or bought out.
