The 2022 MLB All Star game was slated to take place in Atlanta on July 13th. That is now not the case. While a new site has not yet been selected the mid summer classic will not occur in the largest city in the Peach State.
Reason For The Move
The reason for the change of venue is simple. It is a swift and immediate response to Georgia laws that have been passed to purposely disenfranchise minority voters. President Joe Biden, who appeared on SportsCenter the night before Opening Day, said he would “strongly support” such a decision to move the game because of a law he described as “Jim Crow on steroids.” It’s fairly obvious the MLB should be applauded for their efforts.
