Joel Embiid and Ben Simmons were both set to play in their third All-Star game together tonight. However, it was learned today that a barber, both used before flying to Atlanta for the game, returned a positive test. per ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski.
Further testing concluded another positive result and the league has decided to pull Joel and Ben from the ASG tonight, according to Adrian Wojnarowski. It is unclear still how this will affect their playing status going forward. Woj reported that neither player had any contact with any players in Atlanta and have been quarantined since learning about the exposure.
The 76ers next game is Thursday, March 11 vs the Chicago Bulls, which is the first half of a back to back when they play the Washington Wizards on Friday the 12th. Depending on when the exposure occurred would determine when they can return. The 76ers are a half game up on the Brooklyn Nets for first place in the Eastern Conference.
