The Blue Coats went to Disney and started hot winning 7 in a row. But since then they dropped three straight heading into a match-up with the OKC Blue. The Blue also had dropped three straight to sit at 7-3.
The game saw 9 ties and 13 lead changes before the half. The Blue Coats were 12 for 27 on threes in the first half, and the teams went into halftime tied at 68. The second half came, and OKC Blue’s size just became too much for the Coats to handle. Coach Johnson pointed out postgame, that the Bue’s size (having two 7 footers on the court at the same time) ultimately created too many mismatches down the stretch and the Blue Coats fell to the Blue 129-1143
The real story for the Blue Coats was 2-way player Paul Reed, who dropped a career-high 35 points. Reed added 3 steals and five blocks along with shooting 5-10 from three.

35 points (14/22 FG, 5/10 3PT)
Reed is now shooting 43.1% from three in 11 games with the @blue_coats.
“Me, I feel like I got it all. A mid-range three-pointer and driving to the basket. One thing I do want to get better at is my passing. Passing out of double teams and stuff.”Paul Reed when asked about his offensive play post game.
Reed brought it all out tonight. Shooting threes, mid-range, running the break, getting to the rim, and even hitting step-back jumpers. Time and time again Paul seemed to get whatever he wanted offensively, even against Okc’s much bigger bigs. Defensively Paul held his own too. His coach Connor Johnson was quick to praise Paul postgame, saying his team defensive has taken a jump and that is going to really help him in his future success.

Despite losing their fourth straight to fall to 7-4 in this much shortened G League season, Reed was a bright spot for the Coats. And his development could prove to be a bright spot for the 76ers, who would really benefit from Reed developing into a stretch big off the bench for the future. The Blue Coats look to get back on the winning track when they take on the G-League Ignite Monday at 3 pm. You can watch the game on ESPN 2.
