Chris Therien Parts Ways With NBCSN

Our Bundy did tease a quick return though.

The former Flyers defenseman is now a former NBSCN employee as his relationship with the company has ended. Sam Carchidi of the Philly Inquirer reports that Therien has been laid off. Therien has been a part of the Flyers on-air broadcast team since 2014 and previously was apart of the 97.5 Fanatic’s hockey coverage.

Chris was never afraid of going after big interviews.

His 6’5 235-pound frame was slightly less intimidating on the screen than it was when he was suiting up for the orange and black, but he showed that he could provide solid analysis night in and night out, and was entertaining to boot.

Yeah, slightly scarier in uniform than in the suit.

He posted a video on his Twitter, thanking the fans for their support and teasing a “passion project” that was incredibly important to him that would be launching in a few weeks team.

THANK YOU @NHLFlyers fans! It has been MY pleasure to have gotten to know so many of you fans and repped the city on your behalf! You are the beating heart of this franchise. Always have been!

Therien spent all but 11 games with the Flyers, scoring all of his 159 points and amassing all but 2 of his 585 penalty minutes with the organization.
