One of the few bright spots on the Philadelphia Eagles roster this season has been their defensive line. They have consistently gotten pressure on the quarterback and it has kept them competitive and every game. Their ability to rotate often has made them one of the most feared units in the league.
The Key Contributors
The players mostly responsible for the success on the defensive line are Josh Sweat, Brandon Graham and Derek Barnett. The trio has combined for 8.5 of the teams league leading 17 sacks. Fletcher Cox while not putting up flash numbers still does his job of commanding attention and freeing up others.
How They Stack Up
As stated before this unit leads the league in sacks. They are also in the top 10 in quarterback pressures. So even if they don’t get home their presence is felt. Philly’s pass rushers are knocking down the quarterback at a rate of 10.2% per pass attempt. That number again puts them in the top half of the league. So you see. As much as the defense is critiqued if they play to their strength they could turn this season around
