The Philadelphia Phillies pulled off the the difficult task of winning both games of a double header. The back to back victories against the Toronto Blue Jays are just what the club needed to help their delicate playoff chances.
The Phillies pitching and hitting were both clicking on all cylinders, which has been a rarity in this abbreviated season. Didi Gregorious went 3-4 with an RBI and a run scored to lead the Philadelphia offense. Meanwhile Zach Eflin went 7 scoreless innings dealing out 9 strikeouts on his way to his third win of the season. And the much maligned bullpen finished off the impressive outing not giving up a single run.

In Game two against the Blue Jays the pitching wasn’t as sharp. David Hale only made it through 3 and a third innings before he gave way to the bullpen. However the Phillies bats were still alive. Including that of Bryce Harper who went 3 for 3 in the second game of the double header. Most importantly Harper hit a 2 run double that tied the game at 7 a piece in the 6th inning. The Phillies got the go ahead run later in the inning and the relievers held on for the win.
Where Do They Go From Here
Philly has two more games against Toronto and then will clash with the Washington Nationals in a pivotal four game set. Hopefully their good fortune will can continue and they can inch closer to securing that coveted playoff spot.
